Clinical service

Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement

From a fall at home to a worn knee that has waited too long, the orthopaedic team plans surgery only when walking, sleep, and daily work have already been tried with physiotherapy.

Trauma lists run seven days a week. Closed fractures are reduced in Emergency; complex injuries go to a dedicated theatre with image intensification.

Joint replacement is offered after a documented trial of medicines and physiotherapy. You will meet the surgeon, anaesthetist, and physiotherapist on the same pre-assessment morning.

After surgery, the ward uses a written mobilisation plan. The first outpatient review is booked before discharge.
